The Honorary Consul opens the Honorary Consulate at the request of foreign government to develop bilateral relations and exchanges between the two countries.

Twenty nations have currently established honorary consulates in Nagoya, and leading entrepreneurs of central Japan, including Dr. Shoichiro Toyoda, the Honorary Chairman of Toyota Motor Corporation are inaugurated as honorary consuls.

The Lao People's Democratic Republic highly appraised humanitarian assistance provided by the Japanese Cleft Palate Foundation (JCPF), a United Nations Consultative Status (Roster) NPO which locates its headquarters at Aichi Gakuin University (AGU), and therefore established its second honorary consulate in our university.

Dr. Tadataka Koide, President of Aichi Gakuin was appointed as the Honorary Consul in charge of activities for the whole area of central Japan upon intergovernmental consultation between the two countries.
